The 16th China ChangchunInternational Sculpture Symposium (Zhongdong Exhibition Center) Calls for Sculptors

Changchun opens an exhibition center for 16th China Changchun International Sculpture Symposium, it is now calling for sculptors to participate.

Background: By the year of 2014, Changchun has successfully held 15 sessions of international sculpture symposium, which had resulted in broad influence in the international sculpture field. This year, Changchun Zhongdong Group would also fund an exhibition for Changchun citizens to appreciate sculpture art in its newly buit shopping mall. Changchun Zhongdong Group was established in 1984 and now has become a collective corporation engaged in the development and lease of commercial real estate, pharmaceutical products supply, financial services, and property management. Its mission is to create a new life style for the public.
First step: call for submitting sculpture proposals
Submission must include:
　1. At least three original proposals, which are requested to reflect the symposium's theme “Joy· Life · Future”, bright in color, modern and fashionable in style, novel in concept, full of vitality, and coordinate with the commercial environment. Decorative, interesting, interactive and innovative works are highly appreciated. New materials are encouraged. The size could fall to the following three scales, 3-3.5m. 1.5-2m, and 0.8-1.3m. Group sculptures are also encouraged.
　2. A4 size colored design drafts or photographs of the maquettes of your proposals in JPEG format (no less than 2M). Please specify the detailed information of the author and the work in the picture and name the picture as the following format: sculptor’s nationality and name, Title of the Work, Dimensions, and Material. For example, “France Auguste Rodin Thinker 145cm X98cm X180cm, Bronze”.
　3. Registration form and enclose your passport photo, your recent daily photo and your resume. Your sculpture portfolio is also appreciated.
4. Deadline for submitting proposals: June 30, 2015. The submitted works which do not follow the instructions will not enter the second step. Please make sure to indicate in the Email subject that it is for Zhong Dong Exhibition Center.
Second step: select and confirm participant sculptors
All the applicant proposals will be carefully reviewed by the Organizing Committee, extensively evaluated by the public and finally appraised by celebrated masters. If any sculptor’s proposal gets accepted, he or she will receive an official invitation from Changchun for creating it on site in Beijing. In case that the artist is not available to come to Beijing, he/she can also send the small model so that professional people would help finish the sculpture.
The accepted sculptors will be provided with a round-trip economic flight tickets (only from his or her residence city to Beijing) , free accommodation in Beijing, general processing tools and mateirals, and an allowance of US $3000.
All the completed sculpture works will be permanently placed in the large commercial space of Changchun city. The Organizing Committee reserves the final right to interpret.
